Summary
HeadInjury.com provides general information about laws, insurance and benefit programs that can apply after a head injury. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney about a specific situation, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Not legal advice
The information on this site describes how laws and programs generally work. Whether a law applies, and how, depends on the specific facts, the jurisdiction and the date. Nothing on this site should be relied on as a statement of how the law applies to a particular person or claim.
No attorney-client relationship
Reading this site, using its contact forms or sending a message does not create an attorney-client relationship. Information sent through the site is not protected by attorney-client privilege unless and until a lawyer agrees to represent you.
Laws vary by state
Most injury law is state law. Statutes of limitations, shared-fault rules, damage limits, insurance requirements, workers’ compensation rules and government claim procedures differ from state to state, and federal rules apply only in federal programs and federal courts. Our state pages describe state law where we have covered it.
Laws change
Legislatures, courts and agencies change the law regularly, and benefit amounts are adjusted each year. Each page shows the date its sources were last checked. Always confirm current law with the official source linked on the page.
Deadlines
Many legal claims must be filed within a fixed time, and some government claims require notice within months. Missing a deadline can end a claim. This site describes deadlines generally and cannot tell you when a deadline applies to you.
Not medical advice
Medical information on this site is also general. See our medical disclaimer.
